FAQ

WHERE CAN I USE BANDWAGON?

You can use Bandwagon at LaGuardia Airport's central terminal, JFK airport's terminals 4 and 5, and select event venues across the country. More locations coming soon!

WILL I GO OUT OF MY WAY?

Bandwagon’s Ridebatch Server ensures that you will never go more than 20% out of your way.

HOW MUCH DOES BANDWAGON COST?

Bandwagon costs $5-7 per trip. After paying the Bandwagon service fee, passengers just split the metered taxi fare. By sharing rides, Bandwagon users save approximately 25% on the cost of their ride.

WHO PAYS THE DRIVER?

At JFK Airport, the first passenger dropped off pays the driver to the first stop, then the second passenger dropoff pays the remaining fare to the second destination. At LaGuardia airport and other venues, the second passenger dropped off pays the driver. A Bandwagon agent will give you information about payment mechanics before you get into your shared taxi.

CAN I PAY WITH CASH?

You can't pay the Bandwagon service fee with cash, but you can pay your taxi driver with cash.

WHY HAS NO ONE JOINED MY RIDE?

Timing and route compatibility play a big role in whether or not you get matched. Sometimes there just isn’t another taxishare request matching your specific itinerary!  Submit a request again, new users may have joined the request pool since your last request.

CAN I BOOK IN ADVANCE?

Right now, you can't book in advance. Start looking for a taxishare as soon as you get in line at JFK, LGA, or other venues!

I’M A FLEET OWNER, WILL MY DRIVER FARES GO DOWN?

How fares work w/Bandwagon: Passenger A pays Passenger B for his/her portion of the fare; Passenger B pays the driver the metered rate plus tip. There is no loss in fare. The taxi makes the same fare as for individual rides with increased tipping.

SO, BANDWAGON IS LIKE UBER?

Bandwagon is not a Transportation Network Company (TNC) like Uber; we work within the regulatory structure to optimize taxi supply and user demand.
